weekend recap

I actually have 2 weekend updates for yall, since I have been a little M.I.A. lately.  Last weekend, Clemson went head to head with Boston College and pulled out an easy win.  Here are some pictures from tailgating!

My sister Lauren and her fiance Bo came out to tailgate with us!

Baby Riggs is getting pretty big quick

This weekend, I came home for my fall break.  Saturday night, Bo's aunts threw him and my sister a wedding shower.  It was so much fun! They had it set up outside, decorated with some southern accents, and fully stocked with barbeque and sweet tea!  They also made their own version of Redneck wineglasses for party favors!  All they did was buy mason jars and dollar candle holders, sand the glass, and glue them together!  You can see one used as a candle holder in this picture.

The next day, my family, Cameron, and I went out to my uncle's land to shoot skeet.  My little cousin shot skeet for the first time and was a natural!  He hit almost every clay.  It was a good way to wrap up the weekend.

(Me and my Dad)

Also, Clemson won again Saturday night against Maryland!  We are still undefeated and now 7-0!  Stay tuned for another weekend update, and some craft projects for my sister Lauren's wedding! Have a good week ya'll!

road trip!

Cameron and I planned a little road trip to Gatlinburg, TN this past weekend to celebrate our 1st anniversary.  We rented a little cabin about 3 miles from downtown Gatlinburg and planned to walk around and shop, sight-see, and eat out.  Despite a few little hiccups along the way (the hot tub didn't work, no hot water, and the car broke down on Sunday), we had a really good time!

This was the view from our little cabin.  Unfortunately, the leaves hadn't fallen yet. But you can see how beautiful the Smokey Mountains are!

This is the front door of our cabin.  It was a lot nicer on the inside I promise, but you have to remember, we were on college kid budgets haha

Cameron looking super stoked to be there.

The hot tub that was luke-warm at best.

My father's economically and gas-wise frugal vehicle that broke down on us Sunday afternoon.

We spent all day Saturday shopping around.  Most of that day was spent in Bass Pro Shops (Cameron's all-time favorite store).  Then we went to some of the outlets in town, and came home for a quick power nap and luke warm hot tub time.  Then we got ready and headed to a restaurant and brewery in downtown Gatlinburg, called Smokey Mountain Brewery.  They had awesome pizzas and hogies.  We begged them to sit next to a T.V. and watched the Clemson Tigers pull in another win against Virginia Tech (5-0!!).  We are now ranked #8 in the polls. Go Tigers!
Then we walked around downtown Gatlinburg (mostly to people watch).  Towards the end of the night, we accidentally stumbled into a newer part of downtown Gatlinburg.  Back in a little corner, they just built a new area with our 2 new favorite places: Ole Smokey Tennessee Moonshine Holler and Bootleggers Homemade Wine.  They were having FREE moonshine and wine tastings, so Cameron and I obviously took advantage.

The first moonshine sample was called White Lightning, and was their 100 proof original moonshine.  It tasted like rubbing alcohol, not my favorite. The next was another 100 proof corn version of the white lightning.  It also tasted (and felt) like rubbing alcohol going down.

Then, they let up on me a little bit and gave us cherries soaked in White Lightning, a grape flavor, and a peach flavor.  All of these were around 35 or 40 proof.  My favorite one, however, was the Apple Pie Moonshine.  SO GOOD! Check out their website (above) and seriously, try and visit! We had a great time.

another weekend recap

Anyone that knows anything about Clemson, SC knows that there is something in these hills.  Recently, though, it seems like that something has had a special interest in athletics.  Our football team is officially 4-0, and our schedule hasn't been a sinch by any means.  We beat Wofford, Auburn, and now, FSU.

This past weekend was Parent's Weekend in good ole' Tigertown, so both Cameron and my family were in town.  We decided to plan a little family tailgate.  Heres some pics!

This weekend, Cameron and I are planning on heading to Blacksburg, VA for the Clemson vs. Virginia Tech game for our 1 year anniversary.  GO TIGERS!

wedding... thursday?

I have recently developed a seemingly unhealthy (due to the potential for procrastination) obsession with pinterest.  I'm talkin "where did those 3 hours go?" obsession status.  One good thing about it, however, is that I think I have my wedding about planned out.  You know, the metaphorical one that doesn't even have a proposal to stand on.  Hey, a girl can plan.

This is exactly what I am thinkin..

Just another mundane monday..

I am pretty sure I have expressed my hatred for Mondays before on this blog, but incase I haven't done it enough... I HATE Mondays.  It means it is the beginning of another week of school is starting and that Cameron just drove away from my apartment less than 24 hours ago for another week.  Bleh.

Anyways, I am stuck in the library (very clearly studying) for a test I have tomorrow.  Sad thing is, this is the highlight of my week.  Literally from now on, I will have nothing planned for my weeknights.  I need a hobby.

This weekend was a good one though.  Cameron headed up Friday night, we hung out, and went to bed early because we had the big 12:00 Auburn game coming up the next day.  Things get interesting in Clemson, SC at 8 am on a gameday.  It was a little chilly, but ended up being a nice day.  Here's some pics:

Me and Cameron with our nephew-dog Riggs

This is me and my old roommate Fletcher! Check out her new blog!

Riggs belongs to Fletcher and her boyfriend, Eric.  Needless to say, he was the main focus of our tailgating on Saturday.

Eric got Riggs just in time, because I have been chomping at the bit to get a puppy for a long time now.  With school limiting my time and disposable income, it hasn't been possible.  Thanks to Eric, I can get my puppy fix.

trend alert!

I took the plunge..

Thanks to the lovely ladies at Hair South in Clemson, I have 2 orange feathers accompanying my gingerish locks.  It was interesting getting used to how to style my hair with it in at first (the metal bead holding it in will show if you aren't careful). But, since these things are so durable (you can wash them, curl them, straighten them), I decided to curl out the ends so that it shows just enough.

I think my boys will be really happy with the new addition.  GO TIGERS!
