the great lamp debate

I am currently on the hunt for a table lamp to put on my bedside table.  I want something that will go will with my gorgeous pillows and wall colors that I discussed in my previous post.  I cant decide between the simple and classic look of a white, glass table lamp, or the vibrant pop of color with the other options.

Here's a little bit of a better idea of what my space will look like:

I still have a long way to go, but what do ya'll think about the great lamp debate?

Bedroom makeover progress!

So I was searching through Benjamin Moore's website looking for colors for my newest project (which I will go into detail about more later), when I decided to look around for paint colors for my bedroom update.  I decided to go with a really subtle, cool, blue-gray.

I am wanting a little more blue in my color (kind of like the second picture above).  I think this one is closest to what I am looking for:

The website automatically gives you colors that compliment the one you chose, which brought up this next color:

Suddenly, it all made sense!  I had been having a SERIOUS pillow debate.  I mean going into multiple stores and holding one tightly in my hand the entire time I walked around, all to decide at the end that I couldn't commit.

So, I went to Etsy and typed in "purple throw pillow".  Like a little beacon of hope, these babies showed up.

Be still my heart.  I absolutely LOVE these pillows.  They are everything I wanted and more! Multiple pops of color so that I can incorporate more than a monochromatic color scheme into my room, plus they were relatively inexpensive, PLUS they have the blue gray color that I dream about! Needless to say, the pillow debate is over, and these puppies are on the way to my house.

weekend recap

Friday night, my boyfriend and I headed up to Greenville to visit with his family and for him to take his concealed weapons certification class.  We headed over to his family friend's house to practice shooting with the gun he was going to use.  I made sure he let me shoot it some when he got done.  His Dad says I shoot better than he does :)

On Sunday, Cameron, his family and I drove up to North Carolina to spend the day at Sliding Rock.  On the way up there, we stopped and walked around Caesar's Head.  It was such an amazing view.  You can see Table Rock (which Cameron and I hiked one day this winter) from the top.

Then, Cameron and I went to see Harry Potter in the IMAX theater in Simpsonville.  That screen was HUGE (7 stories).  And we got to wear these sweet 3D glasses.  The movie was amazing, please go see it!

Last but not least, Monday afternoon, Cameron and I went to lunch and walked around his local shopping center.  There is a store called Swoozie's in his shopping center that I absolutely fell in love with!  They have tons of stuff to monogram and lots of other adorable Southern gift ideas.  I could have spent hours in there, but I found these:

They are called Redneck wine glasses, for obvious reasons.  All they did was fire a Mason jar to a handle, and made the cutest wine goblets!  I LOVE them, and you can sure bet I will be purchasing some.

Happy Tuesday ya'll :)

gallery wall update

These past couple of weeks, I have been working on putting together pieces for my future gallery wall.  This is what I have come up with so far:

I bought the plates for really cheap at Home Goods and TjMaxx.  The two canvases, mirror, cross, and FAITH letters were bought at AC Moore.  I searched everywhere for a small cross and mirror to use on the wall, but found these paintable DIY ones instead.  I am still deciding what to do on those.  I bought the 2 larger frames with the wide matting at Target.

Also while in Target, I saw this.  My alarm clocks have always been strictly functional, but I really like this for my bedside table.  Its functional, but clean and chic.

I am researching paint colors and pillow combos now, so I will have more to show in a bit!

Happy Monday!

Well ya'll, it's Monday. So, instead of focusing on all the dreary things that lie ahead of me for this day, I choose to recall happier times and tell ya'll about my most recent adventures!

So, for the 4th, I flew up to D.C. to visit my freshman college roommate, Ashley.  We drove up to her aunt's house in Pittsburgh to stay and go to a Kenny Chesney concert.  I am a HUGE country music fan, but Kenny has not always been one of my favorites.  He totally changed my mind with this concert.  He was awesome! Plus, Billy Currington and Zac Brown Band were there too.  We had so much fun!

Her aunt surprised us by renting a limo so that we could arrive to Kenny in style!

This man had a little too much fun.  The concert hadn't even started yet.

Yesterday, Cameron and I went up to my Nana's lake house to hang out on the dock and fish a little bit.  I was told that I was not throwing my catfish rod out far enough and that the marshmellows I was putting on the hooks were too big.  10 minutes later, I caught this:

Did I mention I was the only one to catch a fish that day?

Now listening...

Heard this song on the radio this morning, and it was a huge "Ah-Ha" moment.  Love those.  Its by Francesca Battistelli, called "Free to be me", although it's just one of my favorites from her.  I feel like I (and every other girl out there) can really relate to her music.  She's awesome, so watch the video and check her out!

My newest dream: an ORGANIZED art studio

See the emphasis on organized?  Anyone that knows me knows that I am anything but that.  However,  I really do dream of one day having a whole room in my house devoted to creativity.  A little sanctuary with bright and happy walls, with tons of light flowing in, and a HUGE table to work on.  Im getting chills just thinkin about it!  Let me help you relate:

Maybe one day, I will have one! Until then, I will be taking up all of my mother's dining room space.

P.S. I am slowly working on my gallery wall.  I have bought some cool frames and other pieces to hang up, and I am contemplating some more.  Ill keep yall updated!
